Words are so old fashioned. The modern way to communicate is through emojis, which is why Apple have announced hundreds of new ones are coming for iPhones and iPads.
The upcoming iOS 11.1 update will feature so many new emojis, you’ll be hard pressed to find a conversation that can’t be brightened up with a bit of animation.
Some are pretty standard, such as a bearded man, someone in a yoga pose, a woman breastfeeding etc.
Others are a little more left field, such a mermaid, a vampire, dinosaurs and even a very detailed head of broccoli.
There will also be updated national flags (England, Scotland and Wales are finally getting their own flags), and all human emojis will be available in different genders and skin tones.
In total there is expected to be more than 200 additions to the already sizeable emoji library.
Just in case you use your phone for something other than creating hillarious emoji messages (what’s wrong with you?), the iOS 11.1 is also rumoured to feature Apple Pay Cash, which will allow quick person-to-person money transfers.
Unfortunately there is no word on when the new operating system will be released, so until then you’ll just have to make do with the 2000 plus emojis currently available.
