Apple have launched their latest iPhone model but for those of us without sufficient funds to fork out for an expensive new iPhone X, iOS 11 was announced in June at Apple’s annual Worldwide Developer Conference with Apple calling iOS 11: ‘A giant step for iPhone. A monumental leap for iPad.’
Apple have confirmed that iOS11 will be released on September 19 for current iPhone users to download.
The iPhone 8 will be released on September 22 and the iPhone X will be released on November 3 for general sale.
The new features coming with iOS 11 include phone-to-phone Apple Pay and a new control centre.
With the iOS 11, users will be better able to multitask, there will be improvements to the camera and new safety features.
Here are some of the iOS 11 features to get excited about
New Control Centre
You can now customise your control centre to meet your own needs. With iOS 11 you will be able to add in different widgets and buttons depending on what you use your phone for.
iOS 11 senses when you’re driving
The latest mobile software for the iPhone will be able to sense when the user is driving and so the phone will switch into Do Not Disturb mode which means the person will not receive notifications.
New camera filters
The new iOS system will bring more camera filters to your camera app.
The iPhone is steadily becoming a dominating player in the world of photography and improving their camera is another way to do so.
You can make skin tones more natural, portraits more expressive and the photo file size will be halved.
Siri will be smarter
She will be so smart she can be your pocket translator, you don’t even need to talk to people anymore.
Siri will have a more natural voice, and be more expressive.
New AirPlay 2 will allow you to control your home audio system and speakers in your house from your iPhone.
You can play different tracks in different rooms, at different volume levels.
The streamlining of their Apple Maps service comes into competition with the Google Maps app, but this feature may see people making the switch.
Apple Maps will not be able to instruct you on direction from within a building such as airports and shopping centres.
Multitasking just got real with QuickType
With one tap of your finger you can orientate your keyboard to make typing with one hand easier by moving all the keys closure to your thumb.
If you’re holding something in one hand it is often a struggle to reply to an urgent text.
For those of you splashing out on the new iPhone models, the new iOS 11 feature Automatic setup will come in handy.
By just holding one Apple product such as a iPhone or iPad near each other they can sign in on the Apple ID automatically, taking your personal settings, preferences and content as quick as a flash.
