The new issue of WIRED magazine is out today and editor Greg Williams sat down with the team to discuss the big stories in this issue.

In this month’s cover story, WIRED commissioning editor Liat Clark captures Amazon’s insatiable taste for long-term innovation. The piece reveals an organisation investing heavily in a bid to embed its technology ever further in our everyday habits through the Echo home device and Alexa, its AI interface.

Oliver Franklin-Wallis introduces another feature on how a team at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) is upturning centuries of tradition in the ‘death industry’ with The Resomator, a machine which uses alkaline hydrolysis to dispose of bodies in an environmentally friendly way.
