“We’re going to really start kicking things into gear, especially for the restoration of these communities,” he said, explaining that it’s going to take a significant amount of money to help get these people’s lives back on track. The organization is currently accepting monetary donations on its website via a YouCaring fundraiser, and says in addition to helping rebuild, the money will also go towards transporting Wish List items.
Dixon said in terms of California relief, the wish list will focus more on things like paint and plywood that can be used to actually rebuild homes.
The group has filed paperwork to create a not-for-profit organization, but plans to run the organization on a volunteer basis, sans employees. And in the future, ABC hopes to continue being ambitious. It wants to bring larger resources like purified, clean water and solar energy to areas in need, too.
“Our mission, focus, and goals will never stop,” Dixon said. “We just really love what we do.”
